From Shy Child to Outspoken Artist
When I started my theatre journey at about age 13, I was a shy, quiet girl who had difficulty maintaining eye contact. But all of that changed the summer after I took my first theatre camp! Theatre gave me the confidence to fully step into myself and to trust my instincts. If you know me now, you know me to be an outspoken and gregarious person. But I’ll always remember that girl & how daunting it was to walk into that first class. I know what it’s like to begin a new chapter or get back up on that horse.
I believe that everybody is an artist and that the most growth happens when we allow ourselves to get lost in the creative process and turn off our inner critic. This is possible when we feel supported and have full permission to play, explore, and fail fabulously.
Even when working toward a specific goal, like an important audition, it’s my experience that focusing on the process rather than the product results in the strongest outcome. I offer a safe, relaxed atmosphere where you can explore, improve your skill set, and hone your craft at your own pace. I work with people of all ages, experience levels, and abilities.

A Lifetime in the Classroom & on stage
I am a full-time, self-employed teaching artist who loves what I get to do for a living. I have over 20 years of experience teaching acting, improv, dance/movement, and audition prep to children, teens, adults, and seniors. I have extensive experience teaching students with unique learning, speech, and physical differences through local organizations like Arts4All, Els for Autism, and the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization, among others.

In addition to teaching, I love being on stage as well. I perform regularly with multiple improv casts, do scripted work when the opportunity presents itself, and have worked as a voice over artist.
Kat performs regularly with five ensembles: Playful Ensemble, Kat and Nate, Bechdel Test Dummies, Mamma's Favorites, and Unmitigated Disaster.
